ONE MAN ARRESTED AFTER ROBBERY AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
SAVANNAH, GA (February 7, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police (SCMPD) arrests a man after he robs a woman and sexually assaults her.
Just after 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred. Officers were told by the victim that while walking in the 1200 Blk. of Henry St. a man had approached her and started talking to her, she stated he then acted like he had a weapon and demanded money.
The victim complied and gave him the all the money that she had on her. The suspect then had the victim walk with him across the street and go in between two abandoned houses.
The suspect Nathaniel YOUNG, 40, then sexually assaulted the woman then let her go and fled on foot.
Responding units quickly got in the area and started looking for the suspect and had several people stopped. K-9 responded to the scene as well as the supervisor. The suspect was located at 33rd St. and Harmon St. and taken into custody. YOUNG was charged with Armed Robbery, Sodomy and Kidnapping, and should be arraigned this week.
