POLICE ARREST FOUR IN STOLEN VEHICLE



SAVANNAH, GA (February 8, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police (SCMPD) arrested four suspects last night after they fled from officers.

On February 7, 2010 at approximately 10:20 P.M. officers attempted a traffic stop on a Chevy Malibu near the intersection of Abercorn St. and W. Montgomery Xrds for several traffic Violations.

The vehicle refused to stop and sped away traveling north on Abercorn St. and passed an officer who was stationed nearby. The vehicle continued and turned east on Mall Blvd.

The vehicle lost control and went up a steep slope striking two parked cars in the 400 Blk. of Mall Blvd.

Four suspects exited the vehicle, and after a brief foot pursuit they were all taken into custody, a 9mm Semi-Auto Handgun was found in the center console of the Chevy Malibu. All four of the suspects were transported to the Hospital and Medically Cleared prior to being transported to CCDC.

Isiah Dekey SMALLS, 17, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during a crime, fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to notify upon striking a fixed object, misrepresenting a tag, driving unlicensed, no brake light and a window tint violation that tested at three percent.

Paul Rashamel GEORGE, 18, was charged with possession of a firearm during a crime and obstruction by fleeing.

Terry WALKER, 18, and Craig Jarod SCOTT, 19, were charged with possession of a firearm during a crime, obstruction by fleeing and obstruction by hindering.
