PROACTIVE POLICING LEADS TO A RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE, GUNS AND TWO SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY



SAVANNAH, GA (February 5, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police (SCMPD) takes two suspects into custody and recovers two guns and a stolen vehicle.


On February 4, 2009, Crime suppression units (CSU) spotted a stolen vehicle in the 2200 Blk. of Greenwood, officers set up surveillance and waited until two suspects got into the vehicle. When officers attempted to make contact with the suspects they exited the vehicle and fled on foot toward a residence.

Officers engaged in a foot pursuit but lost sight of the suspects, K-9 officers were called and the suspects were tracked back to a residence. Officers gained permission to search the residence and found the two suspects and three other males and two females ranging in ages from 16-years-old to18-years-old.

The suspects Anthony GREEN, 18, and Antonio CLARK, 17, were taken into custody and questioned by detectives, two guns were recovered as well as a stolen vehicle.

GREEN who is currently on juvenile probation is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and charges are pending for a stolen gun found in his room. CLARKE is charged with possession of a firearm by a minor. Both suspects were transported to CCDC and should be arraigned this week.
