Regular text messaging rates will apply for those who choose to receive messages from SCMPD on a wireless device.
Messages are limited to 160 characters.
This text messaging service offers timely notification of incidents of public interest. It does not constitute an official warning or advisory system. Messages are not official instruction, permission, or encouragement to take action. There is no guarantee as to the frequency, timeliness or accuracy of messages.
There may, at times, be a high volume of messages (and multiple updates of key details) for the benefit of the news media using this system. Those receiving text alerts via wireless devices may incur charges based upon your service plan. Please contact your wireless provider for details before choosing this option.
