| Welcome to the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s website. Here you will find information about our department and issues concerning public safety in our community.
Our department has over 600 dedicated police officers committed to reducing crime in this community, both by preventing crimes from occurring whenever possible, and by promptly arresting those who do commit crimes. A lot of our success in reducing crime is dependent on an active citizenry.
I encourage citizens to contribute to our mission by doing things such as: reporting any suspicious activity by calling 911; safeguarding your valuables by locking your house and car, and keeping items out of plain view; and by calling CrimeStoppers to provide anonymous tips about crimes. I thank you in advance for your support in making our community safer.
Throughout our website, we offer descriptions of the various services provided by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department. All of our programs and activities are aimed at just one goal: making Savannah-Chatham a safer place to live, work, and visit.
I am pleased to welcome you and hope you find the website informative.
